- Project Management
Benson Elliot acquired the `Playa Bonita´ at the end of 2017, in Benalmádena, and signed a management contract with Palladium Hotel Group for the opening of its doors in July 2019 as “Palladium Costa del Sol”.
The challenge was to transform a mature product, in which different uncoordinated actions have been carried out, into a fresh new hotel with an attractive, renovated image perceptible from the outside of the hotel, with a central focus from the customer’s entrance through the reception, all of which accompanies them through the common areas of the hotel to their room.
In the execution of this project, all areas of IHP with their different disciplines -architecture, engineering, interior design and project management- have intervened to achieve a central focus, which has been one of the keys to its success. Executing such an ambitious and high-volume project in such a short period of time requires very well-oiled machinery and extensive knowledge of the operation of a hotel. It requires the whole team to participate, coordinate and find solutions so that the result is optimal for both the client and the operator, and all within the demanding budget set by the property.
We have carried out a total renovation of the rooms, creating new suites that are more comfortable and functional and provided the building with newly adapted rooms. The standard rooms have gained in luminosity and functionality highlighting a fresh and updated interior design. The common areas have been completely renovated, providing new spaces that are more versatile and open to the sea, taking advantage of the unbeatable location of the hotel. Special mention should be made of the rooftop and its facilities, which will undoubtedly become a point of reference in the area.
In addition, we have made an important effort in the modernization of the vertical communication elements, as well as in the facilities of the building, to improve the energy efficiency and comfort of the clients.
The refurbishment of the 336 rooms and more than 46,000 m2 was carried out in 7 months, during which all IHP areas with their different disciplines -architecture, engineering, interior design and project management- intervened to achieve a fully coordinated development.
