Context

We are planning a getaway and disconnection hotel; a brand new hotel, which includes 62 rooms, 35% of which include suites with private pool and garden, 15% with swim-up rooms, 2 panoramic swimming pools, 4 F&B points, covered parking and a large 600 m2 spa, all of which is housed within 8,000 m2 in total, located on the south-facing slopes of Salobrena, with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea.

Solution

The hillside upon which it rises, with 50% slopes, presented a major technical difficulty, both for gaining access from the upper road and integrating the customer’s agreed upon hotel design with the normal functioning of the BOH of the hotel without problems, all while complying with local building regulations on its slopes. The staggering of the building was key to achieving this, and by also creating some vertical corridors of lighting and greenery, we imitated the well-known staggered streets of Salobreña’s old town, which open to the endless, winding views of the Mediterranean Sea.

We will implement the basic criteria of architectural and environmental projects, pending the granting of the license in the coming months. We will also be in charge of the Interior Design and Project Management of the work and manage the execution of the more complex projects.

A getaway hotel on the southern Mediterranean corridor

The hotel’s spa is a very special space, because despite being located in a semi-basement, it has a whole series of well-lit patios and ponds that create a unique atmosphere of contact with nature and retreat, just what you expect from a wellness center.
