The Tourist Resort Apartments, located in the so-called “Playa de Portinatx” area of the Sant Joan de Labritja municipality in Ibiza, consisted of 3 buildings built on a trapezoidal plot between 1972 and 1973. The complex was in a very poor state initially, after being abandoned and allowed to deteriorate over years without adequate upkeep.
The project sought to cement the complex as a flaghsip in the area and elevate its status to a 4-key tourist apartment.
Through careful interior renovations (in terms of aesthetics, finishes, materials and furnishings of bedrooms and common areas), and an efficient exterior renovation (through modernization of the buildings, blending the interior and exterior of the rooms, and even visualizing new perspectives to offer a completely new experience), the objective of creating optimal improvements of the appearance, comfort, quality, hotel services, safety, accessibility and sustainability has been achieved.
The project has also carried out improvements on the overall design of the common areas with the expansion of these through new shapes and spaces. This, in turn, contributes to a more acomodating visual perception of the spaces dedicated to the lobby and catering, while enhancing the facilities with new complementary uses (gym, meeting rooms, etc.). In addition, it has led to a remarkable improvement in operations and management of the apartments (providing better access, circulation, aesthetics and image in general).
This optimization of resources, aimed to improve aesthetics, started from the need to “clean” and clear the spaces to project light and add new visuals that would inspire new spatial relationships. Its transformation has allowed us to create new areas that allow its residents to move with greater freedom and comfort, generating a sensory experience full of nuances and possibilities.
A transformation and vital renewal that represents a 200% improvement of this hotel product
A project where light, freshness, comfort and the relationship with the exterior of buildings in the Ibizan landscape are combined.
